Business & Education CouncilBusiness & Education Council
The Business & Education Council brings business, education, and community leaders together as effective partners to build a quality workforce. Programs that partner students and professionals include Career Days and Opportunity Fairs, Job Shadowing and Internships, Mentoring and Tutoring, Business & Industry Tours, and Scholarship programs.
The Business & Education Council also launched the successful PEER Network (Promoting Educators’ & Employers’ Relationships) - A unique program that takes teachers out of the classroom and pairs them with local businesses for a “hands on” learning experience in real business environments.
Another program is the APPLE Program (Advancing Professionals & Pupils Learning Experiences), which promotes and encourages employers to allow their employees to volunteer in K-3 classes to help improve reading skills, and at the high school and community college levels to mentor business-related topics. |
